Welcome to the tweet trends podcast. Hey, what's trending today? Hey, I mean, hey girl And you are tuned in to be trans is the quickest way to find out what's trending today Hey guys welcome to a way to go Wednesday episode of tweet trends. Yeah, so last week I did the really Inspiring episode and I was so inspired by it.

I'm like, you know what? I think when I do that every week So on Wednesday, it's gonna be way to go Wednesday and you're gonna hear about inspiring stories from people around the country around the world Around wherever I can find them. All right, so let's get started Our first story is about a boy in Wisconsin His name is Wayland and he was heartbroken to hear that one of his teachers was going to be leaving the classroom now She wasn't leaving on bad term She was leaving because she had decided that she wanted to dedicate more of her time to a charity called BeatNB now NB stands for it neural blastoma now Norblastoma is the most common childhood form of cancer and in fact her four-year-old niece had been diagnosed with it So therefore she was already decided she knew what she wanted to do She's stepping away from the classroom and dedicating her time and money to this particular cause So when Wayland realized that he could not pay her to stay because he did try to bribe her with like a piece of my dollars And it was sweet, but sorry, Wayland. I got to go take care of this So what Wayland decided to do he had a pig that he had been raising and he decided he was going to then take his pig to the fair and have it auctioned off now He knew that at auction his pig would only get maybe four four dollars a pound Well now he did have a whopper of a pig his pig was 265 pounds However, he knew that would only get him at most a little over a thousand dollars and he wanted to do more for his teacher So what did he do?

He sent letters out to the companies that would normally bid on pigs at the fair and Explained to them the situation why he was doing this and what he was hoping to do with the funds And when it came time to go to auction something amazing happened The bidders came together and made a decision They decided that what they would do is first off they were going to bid more than the general three to four dollars a pound But then guess what they also did they bid it went to that bidder And then it gave him back to the auction to be auctioned off again That happened three times over where somebody wanted gave it back I want it gave that one gave it back now the fourth time it went the person a person actually got it He went for five dollars and fifty cents a pound But in the whole process of being auctioned off and given back they raised ten thousand dollars How amazing is that actually they raised a little bit over ten thousand dollars? But the teacher was blown away waylin was blown away the people in the community were blown away They were just really super excited to see how the group could come together And although they hadn't planned on coming to the fair and spending that type of money But because it was for a good cause everybody came together and did the right thing So now waylin is looking at his next charity event He is preparing to auction off his three acres worth of pumpkins in the fall So I mean keep an eye out for that and see how this goes for waylin and I'm sure BnD is loving what waylin is doing Have you heard the story about the two Chicago gangs that banded together so they could build a playground for the community? Probably not because stores like that don't make headline news. However, let me be the one to help you out with this one Because guess what it's way to go Wednesday and I'm looking at these two games I'm like you know what way to go Here's how it went the two gangs decided that they were tired of the violence and wanted to try to achieve peace So the Chicago Cred organizations the one that works to reduce violence in the city They came to the North Korean neighborhood and said all right.

Let's see if we can't make this happen And it has been successful. Yes, they have a successful ceasefire for the past eight months now eight months So you may not seem like a lot but eight months to them in a situation where people were dying every day They've gone eight months and nothing's happened. That is something to celebrate. That's absolutely amazing So what they did is they were like okay What can we do you guys have done a great job at not having any type of violence and they said, you know Our kids don't have anywhere to play can we get them a playground?

Well sure so the gang members along with volunteers created a playground for the kids and you know when you think about it if When you have situations like this with gangs nine times out of ten the people grew up in the area They stayed in the area and so if there's no playground there now then there probably wasn't playgrounds there long ago Therefore these kids and their idle lines. They got hooked up in the wrong things these gangs got started, you know The whole domino effect thing But you know right now they're pulling up some of those dominoes and like nope We will not continue like this and their hope is that they can be an Inspiration to other gangs in the area that they all want to say, you know what? We're tired of this too. Let's find another way So way to go Chicago gangs keep up the good work Okay, so I know the police are supposed to always be doing a great job with things and so you shouldn't have to say way to go to them However, there was a couple they just got married and Bogotan, New Jersey that suddenly found themselves surrounded in a surge of flood waters And the police were there to save them.

So now this flood was amazing It said that it came to over four feet high in less than 15 minutes So really there was you can't really blame it on the couple because it's like they really didn't even have a chance It just happened so fast, but it just so happened that officer Michael LaFarera drove a police Hummer up to the side of the couple's car And he helped the bride out through the sunroof. She still had on her wedding gown and everything and she is It's funny to see the video because of how dainty least he steps over into the Hummer and everything and for the most part other Than the fact that it was drizzling rain she pretty much was intact like dressed didn't get ruined She didn't get ruined nothing like that, but I just think that was really awesome And the fact that there's a video to be seen with it like you know at Bogotan police way to go All right guys Thanks for joining me on a way to go and stay here on tweet trends Do me a favor and head on over to Twitter and follow me at hey event That's at he yvtte or just look for the hashtag tweet trends before I go though today is national relaxation day Yes, so find some time to just relax lay back put your feet up put some lotion on you know It's speaking a lotion. How about let's do it and give back to you if you head on over to lush and buy their charity pop lotion 100% of the price excluding taxes though goes to charity Yes, they cover animal welfare environmental conservation in human rights organizations So you can relax knowing that your money is going towards a good cause all right I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye
