Tim Powers is my favorite author. There, I said it. Now that the cat’s out of the bag, let’s talk about this episode. Tim is the author of many incredible novels, such as - On Stranger Tides, The Anubis Gates, The Stress Of Her Regard, Expiration Date and Alternate Routes. Twisted histories? Sort of. More like a fictional unveiling of the secrets behind historical figures and events. Why did Blackbeard drink burning rum mixed with gunpowder? Why did Thomas Edison throw firecrackers at his terrified children? Who wad Spring-Heeled Jack, really? Read Tim’s books and you’ll find out the answers to these questions and many, many more. I might add, you’ll be VERY entertained and enthralled, too, when reading the words of Tim Powers. We talk about UFO’s, Tim’s writing process (which is sometimes a little rough), freeways in Los Angeles and why most of the main characters, or, heroes, in Tim’s books get run so ragged.
