“It’s just really creating these boundaries and figuring out what steps we need to take so we can do all the things that we want to do, enjoy what we are doing, and actually feel fulfilled.”

Stress is a part of all of our lives - we get stressed from work, relationships, health, finances, performances, and more. But what really is stress? And how does it happen? And most importantly, how can we manage it?

Stress: “A feeling of emotional or physical tension. Stress is your body’s reaction to a challenge or a demand”.

Knowing what stress means is the first step to conquering it. Knowing how it works and where it comes from is next. In this episode, Karen breaks down the science of stress and how our bodies and brains handle it, as well as some ways to help us face it:

  1. Reframing our inner thoughts to healthier and more optimistic beliefs
  2. Take a step back: set boundaries and learn to say no
  3. Implement routines of relaxation and enjoyment

“Stress management and time management go hand-in-hand, because if I know where my time is going, I’m able to do a good job, and therefore, do what I want to do and not feel behind and not feel so overwhelmed.”
