from Middle Age Movie Reviews Podcast · host Matt D.

MIDDLE AGE MOVIE REVIEWSEpisode 95 - High Plains Drifter(What's your Name Stranger?)Directed by Clint EastwoodIn this episode of the Middle Age Movie Reviews Podcast, the guys are all back together to discuss a Classic Western with a Horror bent. It's Clint Eastwoods first Directorial western "High Plains Drifter" Matt, Tim, Joey and Rick ride into town to give us their thoughts on the first time they watched this film. Rick informs us about how he only recently watched this film all the way through and has some serious thoughts on The Stranger and his interactions with the female characters.Joey runs counterpoint to the films message about revenge from beyond a grave. Most importantly when we see some of the all too explainable actions from the Stranger and what he does to the townspeople.Tim gives us a little history lesson on the actions of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne and why the two never really made a Western film together. Finally the guys discuss the value of ambiguity in an ending verses flat out explaining the content of the film. Do we know for a fact that the Stranger was a spirit of vengeance? Was he a brother to the slain Marshall? Is the horse a ghost too? Find out this and more on this episode of Middle Age Movie Reviews Podcast.
