Episode 96: The Straight Shootin' View Episode 52 - Football protesting Qatar 2022, too little too late?

Is it too late to stop the Qatar 2022 World Cup? Is Norway & Germany's support of migrant workers a token gesture from football? In this episode Straight Shootin' LJA discusses Norway and Germany's international sides wearing t-shirts showing support for abused & deceased migrant workers working on the Qatar 2022 World Cup stadium building. SSLJA asks if football is reacting too late to the revelations of abhorrent migrant worker abuse by wearing t-shirts in 2021, considering that Amnesty International published a report about the abuse and human rights violations and deaths (As discussed on Pitch Talk LIVE April 4th 2016 - https://youtu.be/HZYCGyXTxlg) and SSLJA questions whether or not more teams and fans will even boycott the World Cup in Qatar, especially as many fans have been deprived of going to stadiums for the last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. SSLJA also looks at FIFA and whether as World football's governing body they will react and stop the world cup or go ahead with it considering most of the necessary things are already in place for it to go ahead, including lucrative sponsorship deals.
