Episode 97: Minorities In Sports with Shaina Weil

from Keep Bouncing Forward: Lessons from Sports, Business and Life

Shaina (pronounced SHY- NA) Wiel is Founder and CEO of Minorities in Sports Business Network (MiS). Having worked in the sports industry since 2008, she has gained a breadth of experience and was able to build a large network. Because of her diverse network, she felt it was imperative that she create a digital space for her and her colleagues to exchange resources. In addition to MiS, Shaina has worked with athletes, companies, brands, and individuals on strategizing and cultivating their personal and public brand visibility. Shaina also co-founded You Got In! along with her twin sister Keisha which seeks to help students on the islands of Aruba and Curaçao apply to universities in the United States. She works closely with her students, guiding them through each step of the application process as well connecting them to the university and business opportunities. You Got In! serves as a college advising program for the islands and assists students with not only the application process, but scholarship and financial aide options, personal statement writing tips, SAT/TOEFL study tips and much more. Shaina attended Penn State University for her bachelors in BioEvolutionary Psychology (it sounds a lot smarter than it was) and received her masters in Sports Management from Columbia University. She currently lives in New York City with her dog Tropicana.
