This week, our guest is Alisa Bowens-Mercado (@ladylager1). Owner of Rhythm Brewing Company (@rhythmbrewingco). Alisa is the first African American Female Brewer in the state of Connecticut. Alisa also owns Alisa’s House Of Salsa......sounds spicy. She teaches Salsa to help everyone find their Rhythm within. We talk about how her grandmother’s influenced her to try beers and learned how she went from working in her parents construction business to owner her own businesses. Lady Lager shared and we taste some solid Rhythm Brewing Co's famous unfiltered lagers. She discuss her visions for an upcoming tap room, customers calling her house looking for a pint, Rhythm’s Repeat Offenders, the 3 Sip rule and her upcoming new beer release partnered with @hogriverbrewing and @hopculturefarmsandbrewco. This "Bombshell" NEIPA collaboration featuring juicy peach and cara cara orange flavors will be released Saturday, March 5th 1-5pm at Hog River Brewing Co. located in Hartford, CT. Portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Women's Brewing Science Scholarship Fund @brewatshu @pinkbootssociety and @pinkbootsct .   We touch on breweries we've lost in Connecticut and her favorite breweries to visit. Talked about the upcoming “Change In The Air Festival”, a beer fest celebrating people of color in the beer industry featuring live music, Barbecue, Vendors and more.   Shout outs to @thedrunkaplaca @jessbeerme and @nebcojammy.   A great time with Alisa.......a true pioneer and a class act.
