Psalm 56 is in many ways a typical lament, but one with verses of encouragement. Verse 8, for example, suggests that God pays attention to the psalmist’s suffering and tears. Translations differ because the Hebrew is a bit ambiguous. But the encouragement is that God knows every tear we shed, even when our prayers aren’t answered in the way we might wish.
