Episode Fifteen - Conversation with Dennis Prescott

On this episode I record an “official” chat with my longtime unofficial conversation partner, Dennis Prescott.  It would not take much Googling to find out who this man is, but an excellent place to start looking for him is probably Instagram (even though he’s got a handy presence on most socials).  He’s a creative in the food space, yet he’s also worked on several humanitarian fronts, and he and I grew up together playing music and trying to (mostly) avoid mischief.The kernel of thought that sparked this conversation was a particular episode of the Lord Of Spirits podcast which deals in depth with the nature of ancient religious sacrifices, and how they were “always food” (as at least the hosts of said podcast posit).  A quote from that episode says:“Once you know that you can have a meal with your God and be in communion with your God, then that takes what it means to be a religious person, or a Christian in particular, completely out of the realm of ‘this is what I think and feel and believe’—although those are important things… it’s much more primal and visceral—no pun intended. It gets you down in the stomach, quite frankly.”So, Dennis and I talk about the nature of food, what it does, why it does it, and so on & so forth.
