The $15 per month "Chef's Special" level: you get one FREE merch item bi-annually AND one FREE "Forensic Filets: Crime Scene Cookbook" which is published bi-annually as well as all the benefits of the "Midnight Snacks" level.Forensic Filets | The #1 True Crime Cooking Podcast | Patreon GATOR BITES INGREDIENTS:1 lb alligator meat (or chicken) cut into 1 inch pieces1 cup buttermilk½ cup milk1 egg1 cup all-purpose flour3 TB panko½ teaspoon garlic powder½ teaspoon onion powder½ teaspoon pepper⅛ teaspoon salt1 cup vegetable oil divided (for cooking) SWAMP SAUCE INGREDIENTS:1 TB cajun seasoning3 TB mayo3 TB your preferred hot sauce2 TB mustard1 TB Worcestershire sauce½ teaspoon minced garlic¼ teaspoon black pepper GATOR BITES INSTRUCTIONS:- Combine the alligator meat (or chicken) and buttermilk,- Stir to coat the alligator meat (or chicken) well.- Cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours for best results.- Drain the meat.- In a shallow bowl, beat the egg and stir in the milk.- In a separate shallow bowl or dish, combine the flour, cornmeal, powdered sugar, salt, pepper, and paprika.- Heat about a half of the oil in a large skillet over medium to medium high heat.- In batches, dip the gator meat (or chicken) into the milk and egg mixture, then into the flour mixture. Cook a few minutes on each side until the gator pieces are browned and the meat is cooked through.- Continue cooking until all pieces are cooked. Serve with swamp sauce. SWAMP SAUCE INSTRUCTIONS:- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.- Whisk to combine well.- Can be refrigerated or served room temperature.
