In this episode we speak to the fantastic Robert Sharples author of ‘Teaching EAL: Evidence based strategies for the classroom and school’. Robert Sharples is a Lecturer in Language and Education, at the University of Bristol, UK. He was a founding editor of the EAL Journal and is Convenor of the EAL Research Network. His research focuses on EAL and language in education. We talk about Ofsted, the five evidence based principles for developing language across the curriculum, closing the vocabulary gap, guidance on being an EAL lead in schools and strategies to aid language aquisition.
