He is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine. He has served on the advisory boards of many professional organizations and is the Past President of the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology (Division 40) of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Barr has been involved in both clinical and research approaches to sports concussion since the early 1990’s. He has served as the neuropsychological consultant to a number of high schools and colleges in the metropolitan New York region and to professional sports teams, including the New York Jets and New York Islanders. He has conducted research studies on athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
