EPISODE29-pt1 - Final Cut Pro and the HD workflow: Request Letter

Hi Moze, I am a big fan of your site and your podcast. I am looking for some advice and I hope you can help. I am just starting post on a pilot, it was shot on the sony F900 @24p with a 35mm lens and adapter. I am trying to calculate how much hard drive space to get and what is the best compression to edit with. One person I spoke to said that I should use the DVCpro HD codec which is about 100mbs and I have 36 hours of footage. Any advice on what I should I do to keep my costs down yet still be able to work with a decent image to shop it around with? Any insight you have would be greatly appreciated.
