Marcia, ganadora del premio nacional de grabado de Costa Rica, ha sido influenciada por la diversidad cultural en el barrio donde creció acostumbrándose a sabores foráneos que combino visualmente con los animales de circo que veía llegar a las aduanas. El trabajo de Salas se caracteriza no solo por su tamaño sino también por buscar alternativas poco convencionales en la exploración de la figura femenina en el contexto donde se desarrollan usando madera reciclada. Marcia es una de las co-fundadoras del colectivo femenino Grana que se ha encargado de difundir el trabajo gráfico a nivel nacional e internacional.
