Episódio 12 - Acabar + verbo (gerúndio)

In this episode I will talk about how to say the phrasal verb "end up" in Portuguese. Exemplos: Eu queria ir ao restaurante japonês, mas acabei indo a um restaurante italiano. (I wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant, but ended up going to an Italian one). Eu achei que eles iam se apaixonar, mas acabaram se odiando. (I thought they would fall in love, but ended up hating each other)  Minha amiga e eu brigamos todo tempos, vamos acabar nos apaixonando. (My friend and I fight all the time. We will end up falling in love with each other). Eu não tenho ideia como acabei na casa dela (I have no idea how I ended up at her house). In this case you end up somewhere, no need for the verb in the gerund form. The Gerunds: Regular verbs that end with AR: ando (cantar; cantando). Regular verbs that end with ER: endo (comer; comendo). Regular verbs that end with IR: indo (cair, caindo).
