Pepe nació durante el año de la invasión norteamericana a la isla durante la guerra civil, proveniente de una familia de emprendedores. Desde temprana edad se interesó en el proceso de vender artesanías, trabajar con cuero y arcilla para luego moverse a los Estados unidos con su esposa. Una vez aquí, comenzaría una travesía que lo llevaría a adentrarse dentro de la serigrafía comercial y procesos de colaboración con múltiples artistas latinos y de color dentro de las comunidades donde vivía. Su resiliencia e ímpetu para crear sus propias oportunidades lo llevaron a obtener una maestría explorando la importancia del espacio como herramientas para crear vínculos entre las personas. De esa manera, Coronado explora el lenguaje de protesta y reflexión de las realidades históricas de los latinoamericanos y chicanos en la exhibición grupal “Printing the Revolution”.
