Il successivo e clamoroso attacco di qualche centinaio di manifestanti è stato la logica e inevitabile conclusione dei quattro anni di amministrazione Trump: e d'altra parte già nel 2017, a Charlottesville, eravamo stati testimoni di una violenza altrettanto inquietante. Le sue origini vanno cercate però molto indietro nel tempo, tanto da farci chiedere se ci troviamo di fronte all'inizio o alla fine di qualcosa, e se non mettano in discussione i principi su cui due secoli e mezzo fa furono fondati gli Stati Uniti d'America.
