La alimentación saludable es una de las principales herramientas en la prevención y tratamiento de enfermedades crónicas tales como la diabetes, la hipertensión o enfermedades cardiovasculares. La implementación en edades tempranas, y el mantenimiento durante la edad adulta favorece tener una buena salud. Podemos resumir en cinco características la alimentación saludable: equilibrada, suficiente, variada, apetitosa y sostenible. Llevado a la práctica, el plato que se considera saludable es aquel que se puede dividir en tres partes. En la mitad del plato, con verduras u hortalizas. En un cuarto del plato, féculas, legumbres, cereales integrales y en el otro cuarto, los elementos ricos en proteínas, que pueden ser tanto el pescado, como el huevo, como la carne o sino también las legumbres, que también se incluiría en este grupo. Dieta mediterránea es por hoy la más estudiada en los últimos 20 o 30 años y es la que ha demostrado tener más beneficios para la salud. Cristina Montserrat, Bárbara Romano y Ana Pérez, nutricionistas del Clínic nos van a explicar en qué consiste realmente una alimentación saludable.
