Eric Pauli tells all about Surgery, Cheese and cycling

from Surgeons’ Lives - Stuff that Matters · host John Monson

Eric Pauli is something of an odd-ball in several ways - he agrees BTW!! Surgical endoscopists are rare birds and he is certainly one of the most prominent in the field. Interventional techniques are his passion such as closing fistula defects and repairing leaks. Reconstructing abdominal wall defects is another favorite pastime and has resulted in an international reputation in the hernia world! Born and raised in Scranton, PA as perhaps the second most famous alumni (!!) he has spent most of his professional career in Hershey where is first major hobby was cheesemaking - is he blessed one wonders?? As that interest got rather out of hand, he soon picked up another that was less smelly!! Road cycling is his latest passion and there are few places where he has not been found wearing too much lycra/spandex and silly shoes. All in all, you will definitely want to hear this interview - and please forgive the slightly sub-optimal video quality. I blame the cheese fumes - in PA!
