Eric Zimmer | The One You Feed - The Way Out Podcast Episode 157

from The Way Out | A Sobriety and Recovery Podcast · host Hosted by Charlie and Jason

This week we’ve got a very special interview for you with Eric Zimmer, a person in long term recovery from alcoholism and addiction as well as the Host and Co-Founder of The One You Feed Podcast. The namesake of the aforementioned podcast comes from a Cherokee Parable. The parable, for those of you whom are unfamiliar, goes as follows. An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life... "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. "One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego. "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. "This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old chief simply replied, "The one you feed." Eric’s far from idyllic journey to recovery is chalked full of spiritual truth and down-right useful wisdom stemming from not only his own personal experience, but that of nearly 300 interviews of folks across the recovery and spiritual spectrum. This episode is brimming with value to you, whether you’re contemplating recovery, new to recovery, or a recovery veteran. Listen Up.
