Cindy Blom is a recovery and addiction coach helping families walk through care plans with their children and loved ones experiencing addiction. She’s passionate about stopping the stigma around addiction and mental illness and openly shares their families story of losing their son Erik after a long battle with addiction, trauma, and mental illness. We discuss how to support family members struggling with addiction, some places to look to get help that is outside of the “normal recovery routes,” how vulnerability and openness has brought a strong community around them, and how our system needs to change in the support of people with mental illness.
