«Es la economía, estúpido»: la caída de Orbán explicada en un gráfico.
from PSICOLOGIA DEL EXITO, ECONOMIA, POLITICA · host Juan Ramon
Viktor Orbán has lost the elections in Hungary after 16 years in power. His rival, Peter Modiar, won over 50% of the vote with an 80% turnout. Is this the wear and tear of power? Partly. But the real cause is the economy: Hungary's per capita income has stagnated for three years. And why did it stagnate? Because Orbán reacted to post-Ukraine inflation with price controls on food (the same policy advocated by Podemos in Spain), the Central Bank raised interest rates to 16%, investment plummeted by 5 percentage points of GDP, and the economy ground to a halt. The same old lesson: controlling prices destroys profit margins, stifles investment, and stagnates economies.
