Escapee Recaptured in 72 Hours | Johannesburg News

A prison escapee is back behind bars within days — and the message from South Africa’s Correctional Services head is clear: no one gets away with it. Edward Madiba, who fled a maximum-security facility just 72 hours after his escape, was swiftly recaptured thanks to a coordinated nationwide manhunt. With Madiba now locked up in a high-security unit and stricter measures on the horizon, authorities vow to hold everyone accountable — from the escapee to anyone who may have enabled it.
