Escaping the Safe Space-The Bridge To Brilliance

Nadia Lopez is, founding principal of Mott Hall Bridges Academy in Brooklyn, NY,and author of The Bridge to Brilliance: How One Woman and One Community Are Inspiring the World. As part of a pilot program in New York City, Ms. Lopez started a middle-grade public school in one of America’s poorest communities. She talked about the risks and challenges faced by students in a high crime, low income neighborhood, and how she devised programs to address them.
