Escapism is a Trauma Response that Can Lead to Complacency

from CHA's Truth Seeker Podcast

A common trauma response is feeling the need to escape, aka escapism. I share my story about how God revealed to me that I was experiencing escapism because my ANS was still in survival mode and I didn't know it until my ANS finally started relaxing again. Once we become aware of all things that can re-traumatize the ANS, we begin to heal our inner child and prevent it from being re-traumatized over and over again.
