Panellist: Cathy Wears. Of Counsel - Tax Department, CMS Cathy is an Of Counsel in the CMS Employee Incentives team with over 15 years’ experience advising clients on their share plans. Cathy advises a full range of clients from start-ups to large listed multinational companies with the design and implementation of a diverse range of share plans, tax advice and compliance. She also advises on the impact of takeovers and investments on share plans. Her expertise includes employee benefit trusts, tax advantaged arrangements and international share plans, working with ShareReporter and CMS to create an app providing global legal and tax information in over 80 countries. Panellist: Tom Hicks, Executive Director-Employee Incentives, Fiduchi Tom has spent the majority of his near 20-year finance industry career in Employee Incentives, primarily in the provision of trusteeship and administration services to a broad cross-section of clients, from multinational and FTSE 100 companies to small private companies. He is responsible for the Employee Incentives Team at Fiduchi, following leadership roles at a large, listed financial services provider and, more recently, a law firm affiliated trust company. He is also a member of the Fiduchi Board of Directors. Tom is a qualified accountant with a first-class honours degree in Applied Accounting and has a strong technical ability. He favours a solutions-driven approach, balanced with integrity and commerciality, to ensure clients are provided with efficient service tailored to their specific requirements. Chairman: Darren Smith, Business Development Director for the UK, Global Shares Share plans sector stalwart Darren Smith joined the Global Shares team in July 2021. Darren worked with YBS Share Plans for more than 20 years as share plans consultant, client relationship manager and most recently as national sales manager, until it announced that it was pulling out of share scheme administration. Darren is a well-known and regular industry host, speaking on topics including share plans and financial wellbeing, bringing fun and an engaging style to events.
