Explains the true meaning of "Being Born Again." Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? Truly [ἀμήν, amen, אמן], Truly [ἀμήν, amen, אמן], I say to you, We speak what We know and testify [martyria: testify, martyr, עד od] what We have seen, and you do not receive [lambano, קבל kabal] Our witness [martyria: testify, martyr, עד od]. If I have told you earthly [ἐπίγειος, epigeios, הארץ erets] things and you do not believe [pistis: powerful comprehension, based on experience or witnessing], how will you believe [pistis] if I tell you heavenly [ἐπουράνιος, epouranios, שמים shamayim] things? John 3:9-12 This lecture goes into detail regarding the real meaning of pisits, which is usually translated as 'belief' but is actually 'faith.' Faith is not 'religious belief', or the courage to have blind belief, but an activity of your heart and mind, based upon conscious efforts and experience.
