ESPECIAL CHARLES BROWN

Charles Brown nació el 17 de enero de 1922 en Texas. Fue uno de los grandes innovadores del blues urbano de posguerra, uno de los creadores del blues de la costa oeste. No se sabe mucho de su infancia por que al parecer estuvo exento de los problemas comunes a otros famosos bluesmen de la época y su entorno. Al parecer pertenecía a una familia con un fuerte arraigo musical, aprendiendo de su abuelo a los pocos años, las reglas básicas del blues, swing y el boggie al piano. También destaco muy pronto como estudiante, obteniendo excelentes calificaciones en ciencias, llego a ser Licenciado de Química e incluso ejerció de profesor en el instituto Galveston de Texas, algunas versiones de su biografía dicen que fue farmacéutico de profesión. El caso es que a los veinte años tuvo que elegir entre ser músico o profesor, una elección difícil para el pues le gustaban ambas cosas, aunque pensó que el piano tenía más salidas para un negro tejano.
