Otis Rush, uno de los guitarristas pioneros de la escena del blues de Chicago, murió el pasado 29 de septiembre, por complicaciones de un derrame cerebral que sufrió en 2003. Tenía 83 años. La esposa de Rush, Masaki Rush, confirmó la muerte de su esposo en su sitio web. Una nota leída, "Conocido como un arquitecto clave del 'West Side Sound' Rush de Chicago ejemplificó el estilo modernizado de los blues urbanos de menor importancia con su guitarra de corte, su guitarra amplificada influenciada por el jazz, sus voces apasionadas y el respaldo por una sección de vientos completa.
