Espionage, Erotica, & Enlightenment: Aphra Behn

In this episode, Sadie talks about Aphra Behn, a fascinating and underrated female playwright and poet from England in the 1600s. As one of the first women to make a living wage off her writings, and a career full of calling out sexism, racism, and other political scandals, she is a phenomenal character from history that is too often overlooked. Stauney and Sadie dive into her works, their effect, the inherent sexism that caused so many of her works to be criticized, and her lasting impact today. Follow Us on Instagram @morethanamuse.podcastSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
