The Blessings of True Guru's Service (Shalok 1) The Ultimate Peace: Serving the True Guru brings the highest peace, worldly honor, and spiritual liberation (salvation) in the Court of the Lord. The True Lifestyle: True devotion involves adopting truth in actions, wrapping oneself in the dress of the True Name, and loving the Divine. Grace: True service is only performed by those upon whom the Creator bestows His Grace. 2. The Pitfalls of False Pursuits / Worldly Attachment (Shalok 2) The Poison of Maya: Those who ignore spiritual truth and chase false worldly pursuits lead cursed lives. They consume, earn, and surround themselves with the "poison" of ego and attachment. Consequences: Such ego-driven individuals (Manmukhs) face constant suffering, internal destruction by lust and anger, and ultimately painful spiritual ruin. 3. Praise and Devotion to the True Guru (Pauree) The Guide to Salvation: Devotees are urged to serve and worship the True Guru day and night, as He implants the Lord's Name within the heart. Dispelling Darkness: The True Guru clears away the darkness of emotional attachment, reveals the spiritual path, and grants access to the supreme treasure of devotion.
