Estêvão’s Future at Chelsea in Question | Chelsea F.C. News

Chelsea’s new coach Xabi Alonso is sparking concern among fans and analysts over young Brazilian star Estêvão’s future at the club. Just back from a three-month thigh injury that sidelined him for the World Cup, Estêvão’s playing time is shrinking under Alonso’s three-center-back system, which prioritizes Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers upfront. While he got a start in the League Cup and showed promise, his role remains mostly替补 — and worse, he might be asked to play wing-back, a position that doesn’t suit his dribbling, speed, or cutting ability. Originally signed to develop as a central attacking midfielder, Estêvão’s been forced wide, raising questions about whether he’s being used to his full potential — or if he’s becoming a forgotten piece in a crowded attack.
