Ethereal Encounters- Chasing the World_s Monsters_ 150 From All 7 Continents with Jason Offutt

from United Public Radio · host UFO Paranormal Radio

Jason Offutt, September 3rd, 2026-Thursday, 6 PM ET TOPIC: Chasing the World’s Monsters: Over 150 Creatures and Cryptids from All Seven Continents Bio: Jason Offutt writes things, and sometimes stuff, but mostly books. He avoided going into the family business after college because journalism produced less hog manure than farming—at least for the most part. He is best known for his Chasing Monsters series, Chasing American Monsters, Chasing North American Monsters, and fall 2026’s Chasing the World’s Monsters, science fiction, such as his time and dimension hopping novel So You Had to Build a Time Machine, his end-of-the-world zombie novel Bad Day for the Apocalypse (a strange book that doesn’t include zombies), and his award-winning horror duology The Girl in the Corn and The Boy From Two Worlds. Jason has won multiple awards for humor although his life-long quest to become the best humorist in his home state remains elusive because he’s from Missouri and, you know, Mark Twain. Jason teaches university journalism, cooks for his family, plays Dungeons and Dragons, and will argue for the death of the exclamation point for the rest of his days. His biggest regret in life is that he didn’t star in Leave It to Beaver, mainly because he hadn’t been born.
