Article 9(2) of the General Product Safety Regulation states that: "Manufacturers shall carry out an internal risk analysis and draw up technical documentation containing at least a general description of the product and its essential characteristics relevant for assessing its safety" In short, this means that you must: a. Write a product description b. List product specifications c. Identify potential risks d. Explain how you have addressed risks by adopting standards and testing e. or providing instructions and warnings The technical documentation is sort of the central work document under the GPSR and therefore essential when selling consumer products in the EU.
