The EU Migration and Asylum Pact continues to generate significant political debate, with supporters arguing it will bring greater order and efficiency to the management of migration across Europe, while critics have raised concerns about issues including sovereignty, deportation procedures and the proposed use of return hubs in third countries. As Ireland moves to implement the pact, questions remain about its impact on the asylum system and what it will mean in practice.
