Den europæiske persondatalov GDPR har været årsag til episke sværdslag mellem Europa og USA gennem slut-10'erne og 2020'erne. Den østrigske advokat og datakriger Max Schrems har således brugt loven til at hamre løs på amerikanske techgiganters dataoverførsler mellem de to kontinenter. Ofte med massiv hovedpine for begge parter. Den har aflyst flere dataaftaler - ofte til stor glæde for compliancejurister. Nu er GDPR til gengæld ved at blive opblødt som del af EU-Kommissionens såkaldte digitale Omnibus-pakke. Og det samme er AI Act.
