Volodímir Zelenski, que se enteró allí del ataque ruso que dejó más de cincuenta muertos en Járkov, llegó con una petición expresa: defensas antiaéreas en previsión de que con la llegada del frío vuelvan los ataques rusos con drones y misiles contra infraestructuras que permiten a los ucranianos tener luz y calefacción. Ante la tormenta política que vive EEUU, y sabiendo que en cuestión de armamento no puede reemplazar a Washington, Europa le ha prometido que su apoyo no flaquea. España, Italia, Alemania Francia y el Reino Unido le prometieron más equipamiento militar. Y Rusia también se refuerza con la producción "masiva" del misil intercontinental Sarmat, que, según Rusia, hace inútil el escudo antimisiles estadounidense.
