Europe backs Zelenskyy as Ukraine crisis talks begin in London

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London today following the fallout from Friday’s extraordinary on-air exchange with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance. Starmer told Zelenskyy, ‘We stand with you, with Ukraine, for as long as it may take.’ As European leaders grapple with the Trump administration over the best path to peace, the war in Ukraine continues unabated. More missiles and bombs fell Saturday night, including one on a hospital, in Ukraine. Nathaniel Dove reports on why the fighting could get worse before a peace deal is reached. After stalled negotiations last fall, delegates at the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP-16) in Rome reached a landmark agreement that commits US$200 billion a year by 2030 to slow and "even reverse" biodiversity loss.
