from O+ Talk, Eurazeo's podcast series on Sustainability and Impact · host Eurazeo

🎧 European Green Deal: The Moment of TruthThe 7th Report on the State of the Environment in Europe, published in September 2025 by the European Environment Agency (EEA), highlights the extent to which climate change is already impacting our continent: “In Europe, more than €738 billion in economic losses were recorded between 1980 and 2023 due to climate-related events, including €162 billion over the past three years alone.”This report, a true compass for public and private action, comes nearly five years after the launch of the European Green Deal. We are now entering a decisive phase, one where ambitions must translate into tangible results. In a context marked by political pressures, regulatory revisions, and looming climate deadlines, can Europe deliver on its promises?  To explore this question, we are delighted to welcome Hans Bruyninckx, former Executive Director of the EEA, who oversaw the publication of the 6th report in 2020, and Pascal Canfin, Member of the European Parliament and author of Winning the Green Deal Battle: A Revolution at Risk. They are interviewed by Sophie Flak, Member of the Executive Board and Managing Partner for Sustainability & Impact at Eurazeo, and by Lionel Bordeaux, former Deputy Secretary-General of COP21 and former Communications Director for COP28.Additional resources:European Environment Agency Report, The State of the EnvironmentPascal Canfin’s Book (Ed.
