My guest this week is Alfred Mele, the William H. and Lucyle T. Werkmesiter Professor of Philosophy at Florida State University, and author several books on free will, most recently Free Will: An Opinionated Guide. Mele argues for a soft compatibilism, claiming he's not convinced by either the compatibilist or incompatibilist positions, but feels the first is more likely to be true.
