Evangelism 101 [Part 1]

Fr. Matthias Shehad invites us into a new series on “Evangelism,” a journey into discovering how naturally and joyfully we can share Christ with the world around us. This series opens the door for every believer to see evangelism not as a task, but as an overflow of knowing Jesus—an opportunity to shine His love, welcome others, and participate in God’s work of drawing hearts to Himself. In this series “Evangelism,” teaching that it is a core mission of the Church rooted in sharing a personal, lived relationship with Jesus Christ. Evangelism includes both proclaiming the Gospel and witnessing through a holy life, flowing naturally from deep fellowship with God rather than obligation. Its urgency comes from love and the reality of eternal destinies. True evangelism requires courage, compassion, and faithfulness to God’s standards, helping others take steps toward salvation. Believers are called to shine Christ’s light while guarding themselves from evil, and every Christian shares this responsibility in ways shaped by their gifts and circumstances.
