Even If

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies’” (John 11:25) The fear of death no longer has sway over our lives. Walking with Jesus can be somewhat obscured by the trials of life, yet our union is an overwhelming comfort right in the middle of the fears, confusion, dread, and pain. That means that though we experience the slings and arrows of life, we do not have to be subject to them. We deliver them to Christ and let Him prove His mastery in, through, and over them. I have overcome the fear of death, though I might fear the event itself. Like I have said a thousand times. I don’t mind death, I just don’t want to be there when it happens. Lord, I can live in you because I can die to my will to be independent. Your external living has transformed me through Your dying. Lord, I have already joined You in your living.
