Even 'Superman' needs love, and self love

from Metabolic Wellbeing without the BS · host Martin Gillespie

Send us Fan MailChris Freer I have led a colourful and varied life. My world imploded when I received the news that I had Multiple Sclerosis which is an incurable neurological condition. In the initial stages I was classified as relapsing remitting but quickly progressed. MS and my thinking around it took me to the depths of despair. I reached a low point in my life and made an incomplete attempt to end my life! Soon after that I was informed by my Neurologist, I was now secondary progressive this was despite taking the pharmaceutical drugs that should have slowed the progression. At that point there were no drugs that would halt the progression my neurologist’s prediction was a wheelchair. He was right! I remember looking out over the estuary near where I live thinking if I do not start using my legs, I would lose them for ever, my fight back started. My journey back from the brink has been a long slow road, it has been interesting, and I have learnt a lot about how we can take back control, how we can move forward, how we can become a better version of ourselves. For many years now, one step at a time I have been taking back control of my mind and body. I know I will never cure MS; however, I will never allow it to dominate my life again! I choose to live my life alongside MS. I hope to open people’s minds to new possibilities and buck the trend of we have no control over our health. Additional details can be found on www.gemwellnesswarrior.com.auThis podcast allows listeners an exclusive discount on supplements from Unicity, helping to control insulin resistance, gut health, mental health, weight control and type 2 Diabetes,  by applying the following link: https://ufeelgreat.com/gbr/en/c/MartinGillespie Support the showMetabolic Wellbeing Without the BS  Following my own diagnosis with Stage 4 cancer, I created an independent educational platform dedicated to improving metabolic health literacy.
