Evening — August 9 — Jeremiah 2:13

“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living water, and they have dug their own cisterns—broken cisterns that cannot hold water. — Jeremiah 2:13Every human heart is a factory for false wells—crafting idols from pleasure, work, or recognition, all to avoid the humiliation of needing God. Our original sin is not just breaking rules but actively swapping the living God for leaky substitutes that can never truly satisfy. The tragedy is that we work so hard to build what only collapse, while Jesus stands ready to give us water that becomes a spring of eternal life.
