All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast. — Proverbs 15:15The joy that the world cannot give or take away is a fruit of the Spirit, not a product of pleasant circumstances. This supernatural gladness flows from union with Christ, so that even in weeping the believer possesses an inward feast. Because God Himself is our portion, no loss can empty our cup of joy—it is secured by the One who humbled Himself to the cross.
