Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Say to my soul, * “I am your salvation.” Let them be put to shame and dishonored * who seek after my life. Let them be turned back and confounded * who devise evil against me. Let them be like chaff before the wind, * and let the angel of the LORD scatter them. Let their way be dark and slippery, * with the angel of the LORD pursuing them. For without cause they hid their net for me; * without cause they dug a pit for my soul. Let destruction come upon them unexpectedly; and let the net that they hid catch themselves; * into that very destruction let them fall. Then my soul shall rejoice in the LORD,
