Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. You are worthy at all times to be praised by joyful voices, O Son of God, Giver of Life, and to be glorified through all the worlds.   Psalter The appointed Psalm is read together Psalm 66 1  Shout joyfully to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; * give to him glorious praise. 2  Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds; * so great is your power that your enemies pretend to obey you. 3  All the earth shall worship you and sing praises to you; * they will sing praises to your name.” 4  Come and see what God has done, * his awesome deeds toward the children of man. 5  He turned the sea into dry land; * they went through the water on foot. 6  There we will rejoice in him, * who rules by his might forever; 7  his eyes keep watch on the nations— * let not the rebellious exalt themselves. 8  Bless our God, all you peoples; * let the sound of his praise be heard, 9  who keeps our soul among the living, * and does not allow our feet to slip. 10  For you, O God, have tested us; * you have tried us as silver is tried. 11  You brought us into the net; * you laid a heavy burden on our backs; 12  you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; * yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance. 13  I will come into your house with burnt offerings; * I will fulfill my vows to you, 14  vows which my lips uttered * and my mouth promised when I was in distress. 15  I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals, with the incense of rams; * I will make an offering of bulls and goats. 16  Come and hear, all you who fear God, * and I will tell what he has done for my soul. 17  I cried out to him with my mouth, * and high praise was on my tongue. 18  If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, * the Lord would not have listened. 19  But truly God has listened; * he has attended to the voice of my prayer. 20  Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, *
