Michael Thorne Jarrett   Today's Readings: Psalm 109Deuteronomy 1:19-461 Timothy 1:12-2:7 Confession The confession is said privately. The audio file begins after confession. Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me, * speaking against me with lying tongues. 3  They have surrounded me with words of hate, * and fought against me without a cause. 4  In return for my love they have become my accusers, * but I give myself to prayer. 5  Thus they reward me evil for good, * and hatred for my love. 6  Appoint a wicked man against him; * let an accuser stand at his right hand. 7  When he is tried, let him come forth guilty; * let his prayer be counted as sin. 8  May his days be few; * may another take his office. 9  May his children be fatherless, * and his wife a widow. 10  May his children wander about and beg; * may they be cast out of their habitations. 11  May the creditor seize all that he has; *
