When we win a medal or lose a loved one, we can think of it as an event - whether it is positive and desirable, or negative and undesirable. It is an event; a something that "happened to us" that leaves us delighted or depleted (in a "state"); whether it is grief or euphoria. In truth, in our living experience, it might be more like a process than an event. If we engage with it that way, could it be easier to handle if we approach it differently? I talk about this today, initially from a context of treating a client - however it seems to apply to a lot more.
