Ever Felt Out of Control? | Provision and Protection | Acts 7:1-16 | with Pastor Joshua Sanders

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you felt completely out of control? At the start of this sermon, Pastor Joshua shares a funny story of where he was in a situation where he felt completely out of control! But in a more serious sense, we’ve all had moments where we felt completely out of control, unsure of where our next step would lead or how we would make it through. Maybe for some of you it was a financial struggle. You had no idea how you were going to pay your bills on top of getting groceries for your family. Maybe for some of you it was a health crisis. You got a bad report from the doctor, and you felt completely out of control, and had no idea what you were going to do. Those moments can be completely overwhelming. But here's the incredible news for every person that is in Christ: In every one of those moments, God was there, providing for us and protecting us in ways we couldn't even see. And in this sermon, we dive into Acts 7:1-16. We will continue our time of looking at the story of Stephen in Acts. Last week, we saw how Stephen was a person that was like Christ. In this passage on Sunday, Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, tells the story of our ancestors. He reminds us of how God has always provided for and protected His people. From Abraham's call and promise of a great nation to Joseph's tough times and ultimate success in Egypt, we will see how God has always been faithful. And what we will learn in this sermon is that as we GET AFTER IT for the expanding of the Kingdom of God, God doesn’t always provide what we want, but He always provides what we need.
